We've got your weekend: Bikes, musical houses, concerts, bounce, and fireworks!

Wednesday, June 29/Dashing Bicycles (1234 N. Broad Street): When we say it's time to get geared up for the weekend, we aren't being figurative. Literally, you can head over to Dashing Bicycles to get your hands dirty and fix up your bike. This month, Dashing Bicycles is taking on the brakes: all types, how they work, and how you can adjust them at home. The event is free, women-led, and open to the public. It starts at 6:00 P.M. and runs until 8:00 P.M. For more information about the event, you can check it out here.

Thursday, June 30/The Music Box (4559 N. Rampart): Airlift's The Music Box is offering a sneak peak of their new, permanent spot in Bywater. The Roving Village has found a home, which includes a 55,000 square foot forest with an adjoining metal fabrication warehouse. It's the place of creation and exhibition, and you can get an early glance to see the plans of what will be. Due to construction and space, they are staggering entry times, so you will need to RSVP here and sign up for your specific time slot. It's free and open to the public!

Friday, July 1-Sunday, July 3/Superdome (1500 Sugarbowl Drive): It's that time of the year for Essence Fest. The lineup this year is so comprehensive and amazing that we can't list everyone, but you can check out the full festival details (and purchase tickets) here. Did we mention Kendrick Lamar is on the lineup? And Ciara? And Maria Carey? Okay, we'll stop. Tickets range according to concerts and days, but it all starts this Friday at 6:30 P.M.

Saturday, July 2/Republic Nola (828 S. Peters): If you are going to have a shakedown in New Orleans then it better be with Big Freedia, who is holding a Bounce Shakedown on Saturday. This is where you can prep for the holiday weekend with bounce music and dance moves that will leave you sore in spots you didn't even know had muscles. The line up includes: Queen Diva, 5th Ward Weebie, Partners N Crime, and Ms.Tee. There are a limited number of early bird tickets available for $10; otherwise, it is $15 at the door. For more information as well as a ticket link, you can check out the event here.

Sunday, July 3/City Park (Peristyle): There's no reason to wait until the Fourth to see those beautiful colors in the sky. City Park is celebrating on July 3 with outdoor festivities. The Marine Corps Band will be playing at 7:15 P.M. and will play until the fireworks begin, which will be around 9:00 P.M. Concessions, snoballs, wine, and beer will be available for purchase, but you can also bring your own picnic. For more details about the event, you can check it out here.
