Virtual gallery: Brewsiana

Last Saturday, The House of Blues hosted their Brewsiana festival, an evening of craft beer, gastro-pub food pairings from HOB restaurant Crossroads and live music. The beer selection included 21 rare and seasonal varieties from 8 local Breweries including NOLA Brewery, Bayou Teche Biere, Chafunkta Brewing Co., Covington Brewhouse, Parish Brewing Co., Tin Roof Brewing Co. and Gnarly Barley Brewing Co.

The music lineup, consisting of six local bands, was just as eclectic and well-rounded as the mix of brews. The worldly sounds of Kelly Love Jones, the ska riffs of The Scorsesses and the Southern folk harmonies of The Wooden Wings were all represented in the Voodoo Garden. By contrast, the Music Hall’s vibe was totally different. Hazy Ray and Colin Lake brought the blues and Lafayette natives Brass Bred played a blistering indie rock set.

Local music photographer Steven Hatley captures the dynamic energy of the live Brewsiana sets in his photo gallery.
