Virtual gallery: Better Than Ezra at Harrah’s

Provided Better than Ezra‘s ongoing popularity, at times, it’s hard to believe the band has been around since 1988. However, their extensive discography certainly attests to the longevity of their career. Since the band’s birth, it has produced seven albums, eight if you count the cassette-only release of Surprise.

Released earlier this year, Better Than Ezra’s latest album,  All Together Now, marks a significant change in sound, but still keeps with the spirit of the releases that preceded it. Better Than Ezra delivered the energy from their new album to a performance at Harrah’s Casino this past Tuesday night, marking the first time the band has played in town since they released All Together Now.

Vocalist and guitarist Kevin Griffin and company were joined by Big Sam and guest pianist, Ben Alleman, who helped make Better Than Ezra’s rich tunes — especially “Sunflowers” sound even bolder. The set was well rounded and familiar, consisting of both new and older tracks. And in typical Better than Ezra fan form, the audience jovially danced the night away to Ezra’s beats.
