UNO Documentary: ‘Where Y’Art’

WhatWhere Y’Art, an online gallery and marketplace that features emerging and established NOLA artists, whose works range from jewelry to paintings to furniture. The online gallery is curated for quality control, and is host to artists one may not find hanging in galleries around town, but whose art is wholly New Orleanian. Buyers can read short artists’ bios and message them with specific questions about the art.

Film by: UNO student and filmmaker Ryne Anderson

Editor’s Note: NolaVie partners with students of UNO professor László Zsolt Fülöppairing them with artists, non-profits, environmental groups, and cultural entities to facilitate a live curriculum that results in a short documentary. In this short doc, Ryne Anderson, a film student in the Department of Film and Theater at the University of New Orleans, produced a short documentary about Where Y’Art’s initiative moving local artists from the street to the screen.

The Film and Theatre Department of UNO and NolaVie present this series of short films produced by the students in Laszlo Fulop’s documentary class. Read Renee Peck’s column about the program here.
