VIDEO: “Laundry Day Trailer #1”

Editor’s Note: Cinema Reset had  another successful “Open Screen” event that took place at on April 21st at Indywood. Mediamakers of all shapes and sizes showed up with short video pieces, and a few of them offered to share their work and experiences with NolaVie. Not everyone can make it out to these open-mic style film screenings, but these are emerging artists making local stories — and we think they’re worth checkin’ out. Here’s one:

Filmmaker:
Randy Mack
Current NOLA Neighborhood:
Marigny
How would you describe/introduce your video?
The first trailer of LAUNDRY DAY, a new feature dark comedy by/of/about the Marigny/Bywater. We’re in post-production. Get on the mailing list to be the first to hear about its screening dates—  www.LaundryDayFilm.com
What do you do when you’re not making cinema?
Seeing cinema.
Any future movie-making plans?
Yes, I have a trilogy planned about Frenchmen Street.
Looking at the local cinema community/industry: What’s missing? What’s great? What are you excited about?
Fostering an indigenous NOLA filmmaking community is my primary objective. It’s still far from a reality. “Hollywood South” is more of a problem than a help, but at least they named it after our carpetbagging friends in Los Angeles. http://essentialnolacinema.blogspot.com
