UNO documentary: Alison Barker and NOLA Studiola

What: In 2012, creative writer and professor Alison Barker launched NOLA Studiola, a blog that has forged a digital platform through which artists of various mediums collaborate in monthly guest curatorships. The ultimate gal, Barker says, has always been to build and support a local, artistic community by asking curators to explore central themes of place and process.

Film by: UNO student and filmmaker Timothy Breaux

Editor’s Note: NolaVie partners with students of UNO professor László Zsolt Fülöppairing them with artists, non-profits, environmental groups, and cultural entities to facilitate a live curriculum that results in a short documentary. Timothy Breaux, a student in the Department of Film and Theatre at the University of New Orleans, interview Barker about NOLA Studiola’s inception and evolution.
