UNO documentary: 'Frog legs with food writer Scott Gold'
From penning his own book (The Shameless Carnivore) to appearing on the radio, photography to freelancing -- when it comes to dining, food connoisseur Scott Gold does it all. After working as a food writer in New York for six years, Gold, a New Orleans native, returned to the Big Easy.
"If you're going to write about food anywhere, this is the town to do it in," says Gold.
The city's recent push towards incorporating more exotic, global cuisines, Gold adds, has made it an especially exciting time to participate in New Orleans' foodie scene.
Scott Carmichael, a film student in the Department of Film and Theatre at the University of New Orleans, recently talked all things food with Gold -- from "sisig" at Filipino restaurant Milkfish to his move back to New Orleans -- over a heaping plate of remoulade-glazed frog legs at The Delachaise.
