UNO documentary: Celebrate holiday and history at WWII Museum

Fourth of July revelers looking for cool celebrations can combine their holiday and history at The World War II Museum. Independence Day events from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday include concerts by the Jefferson Chorale (11 a.m.) and New Orleans Concert Band (2 p.m.), a naturalization ceremony and a lunch-box lecture at noon by Kenneth Hoffman on the wartime cartoons of Dr. Seuss.

For those unacquainted with this nationally renowned institution, UNO film student Jonathan Wood offers "A Brief History of the World War II Museum," featuring an interview with director Nick Mueller, in the documentary below.

The Film and Theatre Department of UNO and NolaVie present this series of short films produced by the students in Laszlo Fulop's documentary class. Read Renee Peck's column about the program here.
