UNO documentary: Art and music at NOMA

With the annual Julia Street bash about all things artful that is White Linen Night coming up on Saturday, it's timely to think about art and artists. And music, too.

Artist Dario Robleto explores both in "The Prelives of the Blues," an exhibition on view through Sept. 16 at the New Orleans Museum of Art. The show focuses on the transference of music across multiple generations. Robleto uses a variety of media in his intricately handcrafted works.

UNO film student Laura Sumich recently talked to Robleto about his motives and his methods, in this short documentary.

The Film and Theatre Department of UNO and NolaVie present this series of short films produced by the students in Laszlo Fulop's documentary class. Read Renee Peck's column about the program here.
