Special screening of PBS documentary 'Latino Americans' tonight

Tonight from 6 - 8 PM, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Ashé Cultural Arts Center (1712 Oretha Castle Blvd.) presents a special screening of excerpts from the PBS documentary series Latino Americans. The series documents Latinos’ 550-plus year history in North America and features interviews with nearly 100 voices. PBS blog contributor José Torres-Tama hosts the screening, with panelists Jacinta Gonzalez, Organizer of the Congress of Day Laborers, and Darlene Kaftan, Director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A reception, catered by Sarita’s Grill, will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
