WHERE: Tipitina’s Uptown – 501 Napoleon Avenue
WHEN: Wednesday, November 23 @ 10 p.m.
PRICE: $15 (Tickets available here)

Whenever George Porter Jr. assembles a highly-polished group of local musicians for a one-off super jam, it’s best to take heed and get yourself in the building.

From a super jam with Anders Osborne in February to his Jazzfest-highlighting 2 a.m. improvisational masterpiece with Adam Deitch, Brian Stoltz and Marco Benevento in May to his weekly Thursday night freakouts at The Maple Leaf, every time George loosens up the format with a band of highly-talented buddies, magic tends to unfold.

Add that to the fact that Thanksgiving Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year and Wednesday’s show should be a funk-i-fied blowout of epic proportions. Get Tryptophunk’d Wednesday night before you get Tryptophan’d with the family on Thursday.
