Cycling the Crescent City: Public meeting for Lakeview and Gentilly repaving project

Paths to Progress, the transportation infrastructure improvement program under which the French Quarter streets were repaved last fall, continues to follow through on the recent holiday wishes from the Department of Public Works by hosting a public meeting to discuss the Lakeview and Gentilly repaving projects scheduled to commence in late February/early March.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Gym at Gentilly Baptist Church located at 5143 Franklin Avenue.

At this point, the designs for many of the street-scapes under the scope of the program are not finalized. So, if citizens are concerned about or very interested in seeing Paths to Progress follow through on some aspect of the projects in question (i.e. bike lanes), public meetings are the place to have those opinions heard.

See the flyer below for specifics on tomorrow’s meeting.

Be sure to check Paths to Progress’ “Program News” page as well as its Facebook page for announcements about ongoing projects and future public meetings.
