Celebrate national ceviche week

cevicheThings are about to get fishy in New Orleans, well, at least for dining. June 21-28 is national ceviche week, and two popular NOLA restaurants are celebrating with ceviche dinners.

Today, Dominique’s on Magazine co-hosts a ceviche and cocktail sampling with Pisco Porton. The event will feature 10 varieties of ceviche as well as Pisco cocktails from guest mixologists (one of whom is Michael Glassberg from Carousel Bar). The event is at Dominique’s (4213 Magazine Street) from 5:30 – 9:30 PM. Ceviche tastings and drinks will all be sold à la carte, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Quan Tran Foundation, organized to support the well0-known local chef’s battle with cancer.

Tomorrow, Rio Mar (800 South Peter St) will offer several special menu items in honor of the food holiday, including 8+ varieties of ceviche. The specials will be available for both lunch and dinner service.

What a great way to eat healthy before all of the Fourth of July gut busters we know we’ll eat next week.
