Bring your own: "Making Lemons from Lemonade" by Santos Alvarado

Bring Your Own is a nomadic storytelling series that takes place in living rooms, backyards and other intimate spaces within the community. Each month, seven storytellers have 7 minutes to respond to a theme. BYO airs on "All Things New Orleans" and is a biweekly podcast on WWNO.org.

For this live-narrative, BYO partnered with the Fair Housing Action Center, and the theme of the evening was “Uninhabitable.” Santos Alvarado, the winner of the evening, tells this story of bad bosses, bad landlords, and making lemons out of lemonade.

*You will hear Santos speak in his native Spanish, followed by the translator, David Rodrigues, in English.
