Audio: In the Studio with Artists of Louis Moreau Institute
The Louis Moreau Institute presents its second season of new music with two evening concerts on Friday, February 26 at the Marigny Opera House and Monday, February 29 at Dixon Hall on Tulane University's campus. Before all six artists began their grueling daily rehearsal schedule this week, violinist Marina Kifferstein, cellist Liam Veuve, and violinist/violist Arnaud Ghillebaert arrived a day early to take in the sights.
All three joined me Sunday evening in the WTUL New Orleans studio to discuss their organization, explain how founder and New Orleans-born composer Morris Rosenzweig selected the group, and give a little insight into the pieces they are performing Friday.
To learn more about the founder of the Louis Moreau Institute, read Joe Shriner's article, which discusses the roots of Morris Rosenzweig's passion for music and the impetus for the Louis Moreau Institute. The full interview with Marina Kifferstein, Liam Veuve, and Arnaud Ghillebaert - which originally aired on WTUL's Twentieth Century Classics show (Every Sunday from 8 PM-12 AM) - can be found on Twentieth Century Classic's SoundCloud page.
