American (WWII) Idol Tonight

wwii museum logoWhat if American Idol had existed in the 1940s? Would we have unearthed hidden talents: a voice like Sinatra’s, verbal tact like Simon Cowell’s?

Tonight, you can find out (we all know the world needs as many Simon Cowells as we can get). From 6 – 7:30 PM, the WWII Museum will hold the second preliminary round of its Stage Door Idol competition. Each Tuesday in July, one subgroup, of an original 50 chosen at open auditions in June, vies for a spot in the final competition (August 14) by singing a tune originally performed, written, or in the style of music from the 1940s. The winners will be chosen by both audience members and local celebrity judges. Tickets are $5 at the door.
