A sparkling 4th of July: A shortlist of spots to see the fireworks!
In true New Orleans fashion, there are always options when it comes to festivities! We have been scoping out July 4th spots that are offering some wonder and extras for the Independence day celebration! Here are our top three!
- The Riverfront Marketing Group is presenting the 26th Annual Go 4th on the River Dueling Barges Fireworks Show! On Monday, July 4th, the fireworks show will take place at 9:00 P.M. over the Mississippi River. This event is free and open to the public.
- Crescent Park is starting their celebration at 5:00 P.M. There will be a DJ dance party, food trucks and adult and family friendly beverages on Mandeville Wharf. Piety Wharf will be open for viewing as well with its own drink station. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support Crescent Park, which receives limited public funding for its operations. No outside food, beverages or coolers will be allowed. Chairs are welcome!
- The Boat Parade on the Bayou will start mid-morning on the 4th of July. The boats don't necessarily move all that much, but getting out to the Bayou in Mid-City to see hand-crafted, blown up, or not-so-well engineered boats is always a delight. Bright colors, sunshine, people floating on the Bayou, and the occasional accidental swim make it a perfect place to people watch and prep for the fireworks.
No matter where you decide to celebrate, all of us at NolaVie would like to wish everyone a wonderful, happy, hot, fun, and explosive 4th of July! Everyday feels like a celebration in New Orleans, and this time we get to shoot that happiness into the sky! Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
