30 under 30: Mid-City Monday Funday

One of the cheapest and arguably most fun ways to do Monday nights in New Orleans happens within one Mid-City block.

12 Mile Limit Bar

There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but if you start your night off at the bar 12 Mile Limit at 7:00 pm, you’ll get a free dinner. Really. With no cover or catch, grab yourself a $2 PBR, and enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal that covers a lot of the food pyramid. Last week, I chowed down on (three helpings of) delicious Jambalaya, cheesy broccoli, and salad.

If beer’s not your thing, 12 Mile Limit has an impressive selection of original cocktails. For five bucks, the bar’s namesake cocktail, the 12 mile limit, is a refreshing choice for these summer months, combining white rum, brandy, grenadine and lemon juice.

Once you’ve sufficiently gorged yourself on FROOD (free food), make sure you leave enough time to head down the block for Finn McCool’s Pub Quiz, which kicks off at 8:00 pm. You may be competing with the Scrillmore Girls for last place, but we’ll be sure to give you a run for your money. Trivia is free, but go ahead and buy your team an $8 bucket of beers to fuel your brains and brawn.

Happy Monday!
